Government Doctors Not Permitted to go on Vacations and Foreign Tours

Directives Issued in View of Dengue and Chikungunya etc.

The Health Department has taken a decision to cancel the permission related to the vacation and foreign tours of the officers of the medical cadre keeping in view the dengue, chikungunya fever, swine flu and other infections. The medical specialists, medical officers, administrative officers and the members of the paramedical and nursing staff cannot go on vacation barring emergency situation till further order. The directives have been implemented with immediate effect.

The directives have been issued by the Health Department to all the Regional Directors, Chief Medical and Health Officers and Civil Surgeon cum Chief Medical Superintendents. It has been clarified in the instructions that this decision has been taken in order to control seasonal diseases and for proper conduction of medical activities. Moreover, it has also been stated in the directives that instructions should be issued to those officers of the medical cadre who are on leave since long time to immediately resume their duties by cancelling their vacations. In the meanwhile, no permission should be granted for foreign tour or for absence from the duty due to any other reasons.
