Distribution and availability of medicines will be
ensured this year in the government, medical and gas relief hospitals of
Madhya Pradesh. This will be done under the new Drug Policy. An MoU in this
connection has been signed between Madhya Pradesh Health Department and
Tamilnadu Medical Supply Corporation. This information has been given by
Public Health & Family Welfare, Medical Education, Biodiversity and
Biotechnology Minister Shri Anup Mishra.
Health Minister Shri Mishra informed that the new Drug
Policy will be implemented within 2-3 months. Till its implementation, the
state government has authorised the Health Department to purchase medicines
from drug supplying units as per the rates fixed by Laghu Udyog Nigam. Shri
Mishra informed that an MoU has been signed last month with Tamilnadu
Medical Supply Corporation for supplying medicines, medical equipment and
other related material for the next two years under the new Drug Policy. As
per the MoU, this Tamilnadu undertaking will decide the rates for the
purchase of medicines and equipment, which are used in the hospitals of
Health, Medical Education and Gas Relief departments.
Implementation on the MoU
was finalised on December 30, 2009 at Bhopal after discussions by Tamilnadu
Medical Supply Corporation Managing Director Shri Sandeep Saxena with
Medicine Department's senior officers. Tamilnadu has prepared a draft tender
which will be endorsed by a committee of the Health Department. This is
likely to be done in the first week of January. In the second week of
January, a meeting will be arranged with the units who would have submitted
tenders. At the meeting, queries about tenders will be answered. The rates
are likely to be fixed in the first week of March. The lists of these rates
will later be handed over to hospitals. On the basis of these rates, these
hospitals will be able to purchase medicines and equipment required by them
directly from the concerning drug supplier units. |
