For effective control on population, couples who enter
into wedlock after the stipulated age of marriage and undergo family
planning operation after two children will be honoured with awards. For this
objective, a project 'Prerna' is going to the launched by the Health
Department. This information has been given by Minister for Public Health &
Family Welfare, Medical Education, AYUSH, Biodiversity Conservation &
Biotechnology and Public Grievances Redressal Shri Anup Mishra.
Shri Mishra said that 'Prerna' scheme is being
launched for people living below poverty line for effective control on
population and check on child marriage. He said that this scheme will bring
about awareness among the people and they will be motivated to adopt family
planning and avoid child marriage. He said that awards worth Rs 19 thousand
and Rs 15 thousand will be given to couples in the form of Vikas Patra and
they will be honoured at functions.
Prerna scheme:
The scheme is meant for people living below poverty line. Under the scheme,
a girl entering into wedlock after the age of 19 years will be given Vikas
Patras worth Rs 5000. The couple who beget a child after 21 years of age
will be given Rs 7000 on the birth of a girl and Rs 5000 on the birth of a
boy. In the second phase of the scheme, the couple who beget their second
child after the age of 24 years will be given Vikas Patras worth Rs 7000 on
the birth of a girl and Rs 5000 on the birth of a boy provided that the
couple undergoes family planning operation within one year after the birth
of their second child.
How to avail scheme's benefits:
The couples intending to avail benefits of this scheme will have to submit
the following documents in the collector's office. 1. Names of the couple 2.
Their complete address 3. BPL certificate 4. Birth certificate of the
married woman. 5. Certificate of the date of marriage 6. Certificate about
the age of the woman at the time of marriage 7. Birth certificate of the
first child 8. Birth certificate of the second child. 9. Certificates of
dates of birth of first and second child. 10. Certificate of family planning
operation.
Circulars have been sent to all the collectors to identify the eligible
couples, compile complete information about them and send the same to the
headquarter. |
